Friday night from 10-3am I’m spinning at one of my most favorite watering holes in the city called The Brooklyneer on 220 West Houston St btw 6th and 7th Ave. In this ambient bar I spin Funk, Soul, Rock, and some fun random stuff to pair with the trippy black and white cartoons going on in the background!

This FRIDAY NIGHT from 10PM – 3AM I’m holding down my bi-monthly residency at THE BROOKLYNEER on 220 West Houston St btw 6th & 7th Ave serving up a mix of vintage Funk, Soul, Rock, and some good random stuff!
Turnout has been great, but in case you haven’t been there yet, they have excellent local and NY state brews on tap, a cool cocktail menu, and good fingerfood with ingredients sourced from all over BK. It’s a place I really enjoy hanging out and all of my guests feel the same way with plenty of great areas to chill with friends and bop your head to the beats with some trippy vintage black and white cartoons playing in the background.

Friday from 10pm – 3am I’m holding down my bi-monthly residency at The Brooklyneer at 220 West Houston St. This west village ambient bar has the perfect amount of light and has plenty of great areas to chill with friends and bop your head to the beats with some trippy vintage black and white cartoons playing in the background. They have excellent local and NY state brews on tap, a cool cocktail menu, and good fingerfood sourced from all over BK. I’m very picky about bars, but this one is seriously a place I would enjoy hanging out at on a regular night. The ownership and employees are also really cool and make the time spent even better. Spinning high-quality sounds, Jonathan Simon, aka DJ Gatsby, has successfully mesmerized audiences from New York City to Tokyo. As a Cornell graduate student, he received turntables for his birthday manifesting his dreams into reality enabling him to share his love of music with the world.
After leaving the corporate world to pursue his passion of DJing on a full-time basis, he has been able to garner an extensive resume spinning at clubs such as: The Gansevoort Hotel Rooftop, Greenhouse, The Gates; a resident in-store DJ at retailers such as: Hugo Boss, Thomas Pink, Armani Exchange, and Adidas, corporate clients such as: Microsoft, Bloomberg, and General Electric. Charities such as: The AIDS Foundation, All for Africa, Birthright Israel, Broadway Cares; spinning at venues such as: The Nokia Times Square Theater, Le Poisson Rouge, Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, The Plaza Hotel, The National Hotel South Beach, and amassing a large wedding clientele base.
Gatsby’s sound repertoire is a unique blend of sounds ranging from high-energy beats to chill and aesthetic tracks to fit any crowd or special occasion. It is his passion to enhance any space with sound along with a belief that there is an appro- priate musical soundtrack for any time or place!
